Concerned about privacy in your browser? Well here is one more tool for your arsenal.
Problem:
Both Microsoft Edge Chromium and Google Chrome have settings claiming to delete cookies and other site data upon browser exit to help preserve your privacy. But guess what – they don’t really work. They don’t actually delete everything when you hit the “X” in the corner of the browser window.
In theory, you’re supposed to click the “…” on the address bar and then “Close”, but even that doesn’t work properly.
Workaround:
Here is a method that will guarantee that you know what is and isn’t saved each and every time you open your browser. Just goto chrome://settings/onStartup and set the following URL as your default startup page: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData (note: the MS Edge browser automatically changes chrome:// to edge://)
